An inter-island conference on Agriculture, Community and the Environment

In March of 2010, the Galiano Community Food Program hosted 'From the table to the Field- Turning discussion into action'. Over 100 participants from every Gulf Island were in attendance, as well as folks from Vancouver, Vancouver Island, and even the US!!

We are still compiling the results of the discussions, but some of the discussions are summarized on the right-hand side of your screen.

One of the very positive outcomes of the conference is that Galiano Island now has its own group of Farmers and Food growers, who meet monthly and discuss topics of interest, such as crop planning, mentoring and apprenticeships, sharing of tools and equipment, food and agricultural policy, etc...
